STRUCTURAL BUILDING SYSTEM

Historical

Conceived in the 50's and improved since the system is based on an innovative technology adapted to the current need of building qualitative, efficient and economical housing. Due to a very high strength to weight ratio these structures performed and proved suitable especially in cyclone and earthquake prone areas.

The technology is that of using C and U profiles ( produced out of lightweight, zinc plated sheet metal through roll forming ) which together with various forms of cladding go to make up readymade structural walls.

Producing C and U profiles of 60-300mm width, 0.5-2.00mm thickness and up to 12 m in length, the line affords great flexibility to the structural engineer and architect alike in satisfying structural and architectural considerations economically.

What sets us apart ?

Compared to a traditional building, our system is based on technology and the precise factory fabrication of each assembly or subassembly component, to exact specification in its final form, ready for delivery to site.

From other steel framing producers is the advanced production line , which thanks to its computerized capability can produce each component sequentially , within precise tolerances, in its final form, without waste and at great speed. So it is possible to produce a complete structure in 4-6 hours. High precision and sequential numbering of each component allows on site installations within 5-7 day without additional processes (such as cutting or drilling)

Design and Verification

The product is backed with local design and verification, and manufacturer material quality certification. Ideally suitable for structures over one or two levels be they ground based or penthouse situations the system is adaptable for structures of up to 4 levels. For structures in excess of 4 levels the system is used structurally on the last levels and on the lower floors in combination with structural hot formed metal or concrete, affording quality, speed and quality in execution.

Roll formed Steel a superior building material

With one of the highest strength to weight ratio of any material in wide usage toady, steel remains one of the toughest, durable and economical building materials. It is not surprising that steel is employed in about 80 % of commercial buildings throughout the world.

Non flammable, in combination with cladding systems it can act as a flame retardant in case of fire.

Inorganic in makeup it will not stretch, compress, rot, crack width or lengthwise, or shift structurally.

Homogeneous in composition and behaviorally stable it does not display expansion or contraction characteristics.

100% recyclable, steel is the most recycled material on the planet. The steel recycled from 5-6 cares can go to produce a house that would require the cutting down of 40 - 50 trees in the alternative.

Reduced Waste. Tipical waste applicable to a steel structure is of approximately 2% compared to 20% for timber.

Angles of 90 degrees remain at 90 degrees and windows and doors continue to function in time as intended.

With reduced weight characteristics lightweight steel structures weigh some 60% less than equivalent wood structures and much less than concrete.

No vulnerability to insects or rodents.

Positive screwed or bolted connections together with sheet cladding material offer excellent shear resistance qualities, and reduce structural movements in time.

Reduced weight characteristics reduce loads on foundations and slippages.

Modern zinc and galvanization treatments convey these structures enviable longevity against rust and decay .
